Privacy Policy for Ghoasted
Package: hm.bytefy.ghoasted • Last updated: August 29, 2026
1. Privacy First Architecture
Ghoasted is developed by ByteFy as an on-device digital discipline and app blocking utility. We strictly adhere to minimal data access principles. All rule evaluations, location boundaries, and cooldown timers execute 100% locally on your Android device.
2. Google User Data & Google Drive AppData Scope
Ghoasted offers an optional cloud backup and restore feature ("Cloud Vault") allowing users to synchronize their app lock rules across installations.
Exclusive Scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata
- Sandbox Storage: This scope isolates your backup data within a private, hidden application data folder that only Ghoasted can access.
- Zero Access to Personal Files: Ghoasted cannot access, view, read, index, modify, or delete any of your personal Google Drive documents, photos, sheets, or existing files.
- Data Stored: Only your self-configured app lock rules, schedules, reward ratios, and group structures are serialized into the JSON backup package.
- No Third-Party Transmission: Your Google authentication tokens and backup packages are never routed through any external servers.
3. Android Permissions & Local Operation
All permissions are executed strictly on your local device to enforce focus rules:
Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)
Used solely to detect when a locked application is launched to present the blocking overlay or initiate a productive redirect. It does not monitor keystrokes or record screen content.
Device Administrator (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN)
Used exclusively to safeguard active focus sessions from premature uninstallation when the Self-Discipline shield is active.
Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)
Used on-device only to check whether you are inside or outside a configured geofence radius. Coordinates are never saved or sent to any server.
Notification Listener (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE)
Used to automatically mute and dismiss incoming notifications from apps during their active lockdown states.
4. Data Deletion
You can remove your cloud backup at any time via your Google Account's Drive App Management settings or by clearing data within the application.
